Se. Segre et V. Zanza, A RELATION BETWEEN THE NORMALIZED THERMAL-ENERGY AND THE SAFETY FACTOR FOR TOKAMAKS, Nuovo cimento della Societa italiana di fisica. D, Condensed matter, atomic, molecular and chemical physics, biophysics, 15(6), 1993, pp. 897-901
It is shown that, within the framework of the extended neoclassical th
eory, for a tokamak there exists a relationship between the normalized
thermal-energy content, beta, and the normalized plasma current, 1 /
q. This relationship, which depends essentially only on plasma fuellin
g, is a generalization of the usual Bennett relation and it is of impo
rtance for tokamak confinement and heating.
