THE STRUCTURE OF A PIPE WELD JOINT AFTER PYROTHERMAL TREATMENT

In making weld joints the necessity arises of heat treatment of weld j oints to improve the structure in the metal and relieve stresses occur ring in welding. Such a heat treatment is normally done in special fur naces requiring large power expenditures. This work experimentally sho wed the possibility of using for this purpose pyrothermal treatment of a weld joint by a flexible thermochemical strip. Such a heat treatmen t of weld joints is especially effective in laying of main line pipe a nd construction of metal structures under field conditions.
