Abstract
Vanadium oxide has been loaded onto an AlPO4-5 surface by vapor phase adsorption followed by hydrolysis and calcination. The vanadium oxide was well dispersed on the AlPO4-5 surface, including the pores, withou t significant modification of acidity. The vanadium site could be used as a catalytically active site in reactions such as dehydrogenation w ithout interfering with the acid sites. The conversion in ethylbenzene dehydrogenation and the selectivity toward styrene increased up to V2 O5 content of about 2%. The vanadium species are first adsorbed on the surface of AlPO4-5 and then progressively in the pores.
