Barium hexaaluminate (BaAl12O19) was deposited on yttrium stabilized z
irconia by introducing atomized aqueous solutions of BaCl2 and AlCl3 (
Ba: Al = 1:12 in molar ratio) into an inductively coupled plasma gener
ated under ambient pressure. Deposits revealed a c-axis orientation, a
nd had porous structures composed of pillars with diameters of 0.3-2 m
um.
