Climatic stratigraphic intervals and dissolution cycles are determined
in three cores of the metalliferous nanno-foraminiferal-oozes and cor
related with the standard oxygen-isotope scale. Sedimentation rates we
re 4 - 9 mm/1000 yr. SST-oscillations did not exceed 2-degrees-C durin
g the last 250 - 300 kyr. As a rule the high preservation cycles corre
spond with warm climatic stages involving the beginning of cold ones,
alternatively the low preservation cycles correlate with cold stages a
nd the beginning of warm ones.
