Abstract
in-4'-yloxomethyl]-4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (4) has been prepar ed via alkylation of 2-(N-phenylamino)-4(3H)-quinazolone (1) with ethy l chloroacetate followed by condensation with hydrazine hydrate and su bsequent cyclization with phenyl isothiocyanate. The behaviour of comp ound 4 towards alkyliodide, chloroacetamide, chloroacetyl chloride, th iourea, anthranilic acid and aromatic aldehydes has been investigated. Condensation of inazoline-4'-yloxomethyl)-4-phenyl-3-thioureido-1, 2, 4-triazole (6) with chloroacetyl chloride, ethyl alpha-cyanocinnamate and active methylene compounds has also been described.
