Conductivity and viscosity measurements at various temperatures have b
een used to characterize aqueous solutions of dodecylquinolinium bromi
de (DDQB) micelles with increasing concentration. The viscosity increa
se has been attributed to a change in the shape of the micelles from a
pherical to rod-like. From viscosity and conductivity measurements it
was observed that the micelles grow in size with increasing concentrat
ion and from a hexagonal lyotropic phase above concentration 1.3 mol/d
m3.
