A novel type of electrical machine is considered, i.e. a hysteresis ma
chine with a disc-type HTSC rotor. The paper describes the design and
operation of a 300 W nitrogen-cooled hysteresis motor with a disc roto
r assembled from HTSC components made from melt-textured YBCO ceramic
material. The results of an experimental investigation of the paramete
