The paper describes a new concept for analysing digital dynamic record
s of transmission line faults and introduces a transmission line fault
location system. Three functional blocks control transmission line fa
ult identification. The first one controls adaptive filtering; the sec
ond block controls the evaluation of parameters; the third one control
s revision of a priori information according to service data. The conc
ept considered is developed as a program package to be used together w
ith transmission line fault recorders. Results of processing line faul
ts in the Chuvashenergo and Saratovenergo networks are given. (C) 1997
