Abstract
Experiments on off-axis amplification of picosecond UV pulses in disch arge excimer XeCl laser have been carried out. The angular divergence of the amplified laser beam was detected to be slightly larger than th at without amplification. The divergence of a gaussian-like beam with 45 mm diameter was found to be 1.3 times larger than the diffractional limit, the UV pulse energy being 50 mJ.
