Abstract
An electrodynamic energy-mass analyzer designed for the multichannel a nalysis of laser plasma is described. If the deflecting electric field is governed by U = U0/t2 in the spectrometer, the full energy spectru m of individual isotopes can be recorded for a single laser shot. In t he dynamic mode the analyzer has a mass resolution of approximately 10 0 and can be used in the elemental analysis of solid samples. The serv iceability of the device was demonstrated with a copper target.
