Abstract
We discuss the emergence of chaotic behaviour in a composite quantum-c lassical system as the coupling between the elements, is increased. We take a simple example, a macroscopic quantum object (an rf-SQUID ring ) coupled to a linear classical oscillator and investigate the non-lin ear behaviour in the otherwise linear classical circuit.
