Sa. Beg et al., SATURATED LIQUID DENSITIES OF BENZENE, CYCLOHEXANE, AND HEXANE FROM 298.15-K TO 473.15-K, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 38(3), 1993, pp. 461-464
The results of measurements of saturated liquid densities using a high
-pressure stainless steel pycnometer system over a wide variation of t
emperature from 298.15 to 473.15 K are presented for benzene, cyclohex
ane, and hexane. Experimental densities were compared with those predi
cted by the Spencer-Danner-modified Rackett equation (SDR) and the Han
kinson-Brobst-Thompson correlation (HBT). The SDR showed an average de
viation of 0.22% while the HBT predicted the densities of the three or
ganic solvents with an average deviation of 0.28%. The data obtained h
ave also been compared with the available data reported in the literat
ure.
