Abstract
A photoactive C-7 derivative of forskolin, kolinyl2-(3-azido-5-hydroxy -4-iodophenoxy)acetate, enhanced GTP-promoted tubulin polymerization, preferentially bound the beta-subunit, exhibited competition with the noniodinated version of the probe, and displayed saturation of labelin g consistent with the presence of a forskolin binding site or sites on tubulin.
