G. Bloch et al., IN-VIVO P-31 NMR MEASUREMENT OF GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATE IN THE RAT MUSCLEAFTER EXERCISE, Magnetic resonance in medicine, 30(3), 1993, pp. 347-350
Comparison of P-31 NMR spectra of the rat gastrocnemius, obtained in v
ivo and from PCA extracts, after electrically induced contractions, de
monstrates that glucose-6-phosphate (G6P) is the major metabolite in t
he low-field part of the PME spectral region. In vivo P-31 NMR can thu
s be used to measure the muscle G6P concentration after exercise.
