Abstract
In this paper the possibilities of visual interpretation of storm dama ges in satellite images under operational conditions were investigated . A map of storm damaged stands was produced covering a large area in the Blackwood Forest. Special interest was in the detailed analysis of the mapping errors of the method to give an objective judge of the po ssibilities for this technology for future catastrophies.
