Abstract
The information systems developer differs from the technical, or real- time, systems developer in a number of respects, in particular, their business environment, their technical environment their organizational /departmental culture, their software development processes and their priorities and needs for computer aided software engineering (CASE) to ols1. The paper suggests that an SPM-based approach is valid for such developers provided some modifications and enhancements are made to th e underlying SPM model and the way SPM is applied.
