Es. Gorkunov et al., SPECIAL FEATURES OF ELECTROMAGNETIC QUALITY-CONTROL OF HEAT-TREATED PRODUCTS MADE OF THIN CARBON-STEEL SHEET, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 29(2), 1993, pp. 131-134
We investigated the sensitivity of the electromagnetic characteristics
to structural changes occurring in carbon steels with medium temperin
g temperatures and variation of the carbon content in products with di
fferent thickness. We analyzed the possibilities of electromagnetic qu
ality control of medium tempering of such products hardened to martens
ite. We examined a method enabling the reliability of inspection of th
e mechanical properties of ''thin-sheet'' products of carbon steel to
be enhanced (with possible fluctuations of the carbon concentration fr
om 0.6 to 1.07%) by determining the carbon content in tempered product
s and taking it into account in subsequent quality control [1].
