Abstract
Enzyme reactors for the industrial hydrolysis of penicillin are analyz ed in terms of biocatalyst stability to pH. A multicolumn system with packed beds placed in parallel and operating under recirculating condi tions is proposed as an adequate reactor for this process. The system is studied both experimentally and with the aid of a simulation progra m.
