Fw. Deng et al., A FAST FOURIER-TRANSFORM STOCHASTIC-ANALYSIS OF THE CONTAMINANT TRANSPORT PROBLEM, Water resources research, 29(9), 1993, pp. 3241-3247
A three-dimensional stochastic analysis of the contaminant transport p
roblem is developed in the spirit of Naff (1990). The new derivation i
s more general and simpler than previous analysis. The fast Fourier tr
ansformation is used extensively to obtain numerical estimates of the
mean concentration and various spatial moments. Data from both the Bor
den and Cape Cod experiments are used to test the methodology. Results
are comparable to results obtained by other methods, and to the exper
iments themselves.
