Abstract
The reaction of sodium amide with chloroarenetricarbonylchromium compl exes gives aniline derivatives via an ipso nucleophilic aromatic subst itution S(N)Ar if the arene is substituted by a good withdrawing elect ron substituent such as a CF3 group; a poor nucleophile i.e. CF3CH2O-, can also substitute the chloro group of chlorotrifluoromethylbenzenet ricarbonylchromium complexes.
