We have evaluated the interobserver variability of color discriminatio
n data in three different color representation spaces: CIELUV, CIELAB
and cone-excitation space. We determined differential color thresholds
for an achromatic stimulus and eight observers and represent them in
the three color spaces. The results show a very little variability in
the cone-excitation space. based upon Boynton's color vision model. Th
e differences are a little higher in CIELUV space, although can be con
sidered as moderated, whereas these are quite higher in CIELAB.
