F. Frontera et al., PERFORMANCES OF THE PULSE-SHAPE ELECTRONICS OF THE HIGH-ENERGY EXPERIMENT PDS ON BOARD THE X-RAY ASTRONOMY SATELLITE SAX, IEEE transactions on nuclear science, 40(4), 1993, pp. 899-904
The high energy (15-300 keV) experiment PDS is one of the four narrow
field instruments on board the Italian-Dutch SAX satellite. The PDS de
tector is composed of 4 actively shielded NaI(Tl)/CsI(Na) phoswich sci
ntillators and has a field of view of 1.4-degrees (FWHM). The total ge
ometric area is 795 cm2. We will present a description of the instrume
nt and its development status with particular emphasis to the performa
nces of the pulse shape analysis electronics.
