PRELIMINARY STUDIES USING SILICON STRIP DETECTORS IN DIGITAL AUTORADIOGRAPHY

A prototype 1-d silicon strip detector system for applications in auto radiography is described. The commercially available detector allows 2 -d imaging to be achieved by acquiring projection data at multiple ang les as the source is rotated above the detector. Standard image recons truction techniques are employed to produce the final 2-d image. The f irst test performed is presenting showing that tomography is possible with 1-d silicon strip detectors.
