The photochemical characteristics of carbetamid herbicide adsorbed on
different solid supports were investigated. No significant difference
was found for lambda max and triplet state of carbetamid, however, the
structural properties such as specific area and reflection coefficien
t are very different for each support. Silica was selected as the best
support for the kinetic investigations of photodegradation of carbeta
mid. A comparison with aqueous media was made and a mechanism of photo
degradation of carbetamid was also proposed.
