Adenotonsillectomies are performed increasingly as day cases in North America and Canada. This paper analyses reports where such tonsillecto mies were performed. It is possible to successfully select a group wit h lower risk of complications. Haemorrhage occurs either early in the post-operative period or later than 24 hours after operation. With goo d organization tonsillectomies can be safely performed as day cases.
