Y. Nakayama et T. Takaai, X-RAY ELASTIC-CONSTANTS AS AFFECTED BY DI FFRACTING PLANE IN COLD-ROLLED 5083 ALUMINUM-ALLOY, Nippon Kinzoku Gakkaishi, 57(4), 1993, pp. 394-401
The X-ray elastic constants of the cold-rolled 5083 aluminum alloy wer
e measured for the crystal planes (311) and (222) by using CrKalpha ch
aracteristic X-rays. The diffracting plane dependence of X-ray elastic
constants as well as the variations of X-ray elastic constants due to
the cold rolling, were studied experimentally. The following conclusi
ons were obtained: (1) Reasonable measurement of X-ray elastic constan
t was closely related to the variations of integrated intensity which
was affected by the formation of rolling textures. (2) Certain inconsi
stency was observed between the elastic constants values measured by m
echanical procedures and those measured applying X-ray diffraction met
hod. (3) The diffracting plane dependence of X-ray elastic constants w
as observed for the (31 1) and (222) planes. X-ray elastic constants o
f the (3 11) plane decreased with increasing reduction in area by cold
rolling.
