Abstract
An interesting rearrangement of ar-curcumene oxide over single oxides like Al2O3, Y2O3, Eu2O3, Nd2O3, Sm3O3 and binary oxides like Al2O3-Y2O 3, Al2O3-Eu2O3, Al2O3-Sm2O3 and Al2O3-Nd2O3 is described. Among single oxides, Al2O3 favourably yielded alcohols while rare earth oxides fav oured the formation of ketones. Activity and selectivity considerably changed when binary oxides are used as catalysts.
