Abstract
From the results of magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurem ents of the triple chains ACrF4 (A = K, Rb, Cs), the characteristics o f one-dimensional antiferromagnetic chains are found. The exchange par ameters J/k are -6.2 K and -12.2 K for KCrF4 and CsCrF4, respectively. Measurements on single crystals of RbCrF4 reveal the exchange and the anisotropy parameters to be J/k = -10.5 K and D/k = 0.4 K. The Mossba uer spectra of 2% Fe-57 doped CsCrF4 show marked relaxation. One third of the magnetic chains are frustrated and remain uncorrelated with ot her magnetic chains.
