Magnetic moments are of importance in many fields of science, besides
physics. All macroscopic magnetic moments can be traced back to the ma
gnetic moments of hadrons and leptons. From models for the magnetic mo
ments of the hadrons that are considered here, we give evidence for th
eir internal structure. We concentrate on the well-measured baryon mag
netic moments, in particular those belonging to the 'octet' and, to a
lesser extent, to the 'decuplet'. We calculate these magnetic moments
in a relativistic quark model, coupled to the pionic field, and find s
atisfactory overall agreement with their measured values. Even the rec
ently measured magnetic moment of the baryon with the highest mass, th
e OMEGA-(1672), requires a sizeable meson cloud contribution.
