M. Botineau et al., THE PIOFFRAY PEAT BOG (HAUTE-VIENNE DISTR ICT, FRANCE) - A REMARKABLEBOTANICAL SITE, Acta botanica gallica, 140(1), 1993, pp. 57-61
The authors deal with a remarkable botanic site of Limousin : the Piof
fray peat bog (Haute-Vienne district). The successively depict its dif
ferent sides related to its floristic compound; then, they stress its
originality which lies in the joint presence of boreal and atlantic fl
orae. This phytogeographic feature stems both from a rather low altitu
de and from the western setting of the Monts de Blond hills in relatio
n to the Massif Central.
