E. Garciatorano et al., ALPHA-PARTICLE EMISSION PROBABILITIES IN THE DECAY OF PU-239, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 334(2-3), 1993, pp. 477-484
The alpha-particle emission probabilities (P(alpha)) of Pu-239 have be
en measured using material of highest enrichment and radiochemical pur
ity, thin sources produced by vacuum sublimation, and high-resolution
a spectroscopy with ion-implanted Si detectors (PIPS). The results for
the major emissions are P(alpha0.07)=0.7077+/-0.0014, P(alpha13)=0.17
11+/-0.0014 and P(alpha51)=0.1194+/-0.0007, which for the P(alpha0.07)
is about 3.6% lower than the recent evaluated value in the literature
