Abstract
The effect of the low-molecular chitosan on the solubility and dissolu tion characteristics of spironolactone has been studied. Kneaded mixtu res of spironolactone with low-molecular chitosan were prepared and th eir in vitro dissolution behaviours were examined. The interaction of spironolactone with low-molecular chitosan both in aqueous solution an d in the solid state was examined by performing solubility analysis, p owder X-ray diffractometry and differential scanning calorimetry measu rements. It was found that low-molecular chitosan may be used for the enhancement of the dissolution rate of spirono-lactone.
