SOUTH-AFRICAN FUNGI .3. A REINVESTIGATION OF PEARSON LEPIOTA TYPES

Descriptions are given of Lepiota canescens, L. cristato-cystidiata, L . cutifracta, L. fustiformis, L. truncata and L. umbrino-zonata. Lepio ta canescens is reduced to synonymy under L. truncata. The diagnosis o f L. fustiformis is shown to be based on two different taxa and the no menclatural implications are discussed. The following new combinations are proposed: Leucoagaricus cristato-cystidiatus, Leucocoprinus trunc atus, L. umbrino-zonatus. Lepiota praeclara and L, roseolescens both b elong in Amanita.
