A. Riegel, SUBSURFACE CHARACTERISTICS RELATED TO THE PROCESS CONDITIONS DURING CUTTING - STATE OF TECHNOLOGY AND POSSIBLE MEASURING METHODS, Holz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 55(2), 1997, pp. 111-117
During cutting of wood subsurface layers are deformed or crashed. Thes
e deformations are related to the process conditions and influence fol
lowing processes, e.g. lacquering or adhesion. The following article d
escribes the state of technology concerning the machining effects. Pos
sible measuring methodes are developed out of potential changes in woo
d physics.
