Abstract
Feat samples were subjected to oven experiments spanning a considerabl e temperature range, some resulting in ignition and some in failure to ignite. Heat release rates for the two display a temperature dependen ce describable by a single pair of Arrhenius parameters in spite of si gnificantly greater volatiles release in some experiments than in othe rs. Applicability of the Frank-Kamenetskii treatment to such materials is discussed in the light of these findings. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsev ier Science Ltd.
