Va. Baraboy et al., THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS SCHEMES OF THERMORA DIOTHERAPY ON KINETIC-PARAMETERS OF RHABDOMYOSARCOMA AND SARCOMA-45 CELLS IN RATS AND IN HEP-2 CELL-CULTURE, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 15(4), 1993, pp. 70-74
The cytokinetic parameters of tumours in vitro and in diffusion chambe
rs were studied in Hep-2 cell culture, in rats with sarcoma 45 and DMB
A-induced rhabdomyosarcoma under conditions of X-ray irradiation (XI)
and hyperthermia (HT) at 44-degrees-C and 40-degrees-C by means of mor
phometry, transmission and scanning electron microscopy. It has been s
hown that proliferative activity of tumour cells subjected to HT at 44
-degrees-C and XI, XI and HT at 44-degrees-C, HP at 40-degrees-C and X
I was inhibited nearly to equal extent. HT at 40-degrees-C led to a si
gnificant stimulation of tumour cell proliferation but, being combined
with subsequent XI it caused marked inhibition of the process. In com
bined schemes of thermoradiotherapy the use of HT followed by XI with
a minimal interval proved to be more preferable.
