The associative memory is realized experimentally using only optical e
lements. The SBS-selector (a small length SBS-medium placed in the len
s focus) is used as the key element of the scheme. A qualitative gain
in the case of SBS-selector in comparison with SBS-mirror is demonstra
ted experimentally. The speed of the scheme, defined by the speed of S
BS, is tau congruent-to 10(-8)s. Estimations show the feasibility of s
ignal selection against the noise background using the SBS-selector, w
hen the initial level of signal distortion is 10(-3). Reliable operati
on of the SBS-selector is demonstrated with 2 GW/cm2 radiation power d
ensity and 2 J energy.
