In this paper, we consider the application of moment methods (MM) to e
ddy-current testing problems for nondestructive evaluation (NDE). We d
erive a general formulation for the MM used to analyze NDE problems, a
nd present results calculated by the MM and experimental data obtained
from our eddy-current testing system for an artificially made sample.
A good agreement between the calculated results and the experimental
data confirms the validity of the method developed in this paper for t
he NDE problems. Our result shows that the MM can be used as an altern
ative mathematical method to the finite element method (FEM) and the b
oundary element method (BEM) in NDE.
