Three acidic amino acids were synthesized using the non-NMDA antagonis
t, 3-(carboxymethoxy)-5-methyl-4-isoxazolyl]propionic acid (AMOA), as
a lead structure. ,7-tetrahydroisoxazolo[5,4-c]pyridine-5-carboxylic a
cid (1) was found to be a selective NMDA antagonist, whereas ymethoxy)
-5-trifluoromethyl-4-isoxazolyl]propionic acid (2) was shown to be a n
on-NMDA antagonist.
