Abstract
New oligomeric UV-stabilizers of the type of 2-hydroxy-4-alkoxy benzop henone-formaldehyde prepared earlier were incorporated into poly(methy l methacrylate). Accelerated photooxidation as well as oven ageing tes ts were performed. The stabilizer efffectiveness was estimated by IR a nd UV spectral study, mechanical testing, viscosity measurement, and w eight loss measurement. Compared to monomeric stabilizers, the oligome ric compounds show better performance.
