Arrhenius parameters of oxidation of two Scottish bituminous coals wer
e determined from heat-release rate measurements at laboratory oven te
mperatures. When the heat release rate expression so obtained was appl
ied at stockpiling temperatures (similar to 300 K), one coal was shown
to have a significantly greater propensity to spontaneous combustion
than the other. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
