Av. Kaznacheev et al., ELECTROOPTICS OF LIQUID-CRYSTAL COMPOSITES BASED ON POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATES, Soviet journal of optical technology, 60(7), 1993, pp. 460-462
The electro-optical properties of liquid-crystal (LC) composites-polym
eric materials in whose pores nematics are found-are investigated. The
dependence of the sample transmittance on the voltage and the turn-on
and turn-off times are measured at different temperatures. The unique
features of the initial portions of the transmission curves are point
ed out for samples with large capsules. The dependences of the dischar
ge time of a capacitor with an LC composite on the concentration of ne
matic material and the capsule size are considered.
