The results of a x-ray diffraction study based on the radial distribut
ion function for the atoms are generalized for highly dispersed suppor
ted bimetallic catalysts. The effectiveness of this method (compared w
ith other physical methods) is demonstrated for determination of the c
omplex composition of bimetallic catalysts and assessment of the dispe
rsity of the active component. The role of the support and the catalys
t preparation method in formation of the phase composition of bimetall
ic catalysts and dispersity of the active component is shown.
