Kn. Law et al., PRELIMINARY-STUDY ON MICROWAVE-HEATING FO R PRODUCTION OF CHEMIMECHANICAL PULP - THE PULP PRODUCED HAS ACCEPTABLE PAPERMAKING PROPERTIES, Pulp & paper Canada, 94(8), 1993, pp. 33-36
The possibility of using microwave heating to produce chemimechanical
pulps was examined. High degrees of sulphonation of hardwood and softw
ood chips can be achieved using microwaves, even within a short irradi
ation time of less than three minutes. Refiner pulps made from the tre
ated chips show good papermaking properties.
