Js. Wagh et al., HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHIC METHOD FOR THE MONITORING OF THE SYNTHESIS OF THE PRECURSOR FOR TETRAMISOLE, Journal of chromatography, 646(2), 1993, pp. 428-433
The synthesis of the monochloro precursor C6H2CH2(OH)CH2NHCH2CH2Cl is
the crucial step in the synthesis of the important anthelmintic drug t
etramisole. HPLC methods using mobile phases consisting of methanol, w
ater and acetonitrile in various combinations together with ammonium c
hloride as an inorganic modifier and Nova-Pak C18 and muPorasil column
s were developed for the monitoring and quantification of each step of
the synthesis of the precursor. The methods provide important clues f
or increasing the yield of the product.
