Abstract
Epiphyseodesis is an established means of correcting lesser leg length discrepancies. A new cannulated tube saw was successfully used in 10 children and produced results comparable to those achieved with the st andard Phemister technique (15 children). A unilateral surgical approa ch ensures that recovery of knee function is faster with the new metho d, however. Discrepancies of 2-5 cm were reliably reduced to < 1 cm in children aged 10-14 years.
