The Standard Reference Material 4351 from the National Institute of St
andards and Technology is acknowledged to be inhomogeneous. The value
of a single analysis for Pu-239 + Pu-240 could lie within a wide range
. but the accuracy of the analysis can be corroborated by comparing th
e corresponding Pu-238/Pu-239 + Pu-240 or Pu-240/Pu-239 values with th
e relationships between these ratios and the total plutonium concentra
tion.
