Ma. Laffan et al., ACQUIRED ANTI FACTOR-VIII INHIBITORS FOLLOWING PREGNANCY - A REPORT OF 2 CASES RESPONDING TO TREATMENT, Clinical and laboratory haematology, 15(3), 1993, pp. 195-202
Anti Factor VIII antibodies, usually detected in the post-partum perio
d, are a recognized complication of pregnancy. They are associated wit
h a high morbidity and mortality and should therefore be treated activ
ely whenever possible. We report two cases of acquired haemophilia ari
sing in the puerperium and responding to treatment with prednisolone.
We recommend this approach which is simple, cheap and effective.
