Abstract
Ibuprofen showed significant antifungal activity in vitro against derm atophytes at pH 5 (MIC: 5-40 mug ml-1). In this respect it is comparat ively more efficient than two well known and medically used antifungal compounds, benzoic and salicylic acids. This compound with anti-infla mmatory activity which is not found in any other conventional antifung al organic acids, may have clinical prospects.
